Supporting local live music communities

The Groupmuse Foundation helps to support a worker- and musician-owned co-operative seeking to uplift and organize freelance musicians across the US by building hyper-local musical communities through live, intimate musical performances in living rooms, back yards, and community spaces across the US.

Planetary Music Movement (PMM)

This program, curated by cellist Dara Hankins and community organizer Theon Freeman features and celebrates artists of African descent through concerts in partnership with Black-owned businesses and presenters across Groupmuse’s national concert network.

Provide fiscal sponsorship

Musicians often have limited access to fundraising infrastructure when they want to create new artistic projects. We provide fiscal sponsorship to support artist-led initiatives that align with our mission.

Develop musician co-operativism

We are dedicated to exploring new systemic solutions to increase economic independence and sustainable livelihoods for artists. We support musicians who are dedicated to cooperative and collaborative decision making to build more vibrant and diverse communities for artists to live and work in.
